Adelaide Waxing – All About Waxing

Adelaide waxing is one very popular method of removing body hair.  It is a semi-permanent hair removal treatment where the hair is removed from the hair follicle, hence hair regrowth takes about 2 to 6 weeks to return.  The longer the period of time you wax, the softer, finer, and lighter the hair re-grows, and the more likelihood that the hair will stop regrowing entirely over time.  Virtually any part of our body can be waxed.  The most common areas of waxing that most Adelaide waxing salons perform are leg, feet, underarm, bikini line, eyebrow, upper lip, face, and arm waxing.  Many Adelaide waxing salons are now catering for the ever growing market for male waxing.  The most common areas for male waxing is the back, chest, and stomach.  There are other parts of the body which are also becoming more popular to have waxed.  These areas, often advertised as XXX waxing, include a Brazilian waxing for women, where the majority or all of the pubic hair is removed, and, for men, the buttocks and genitals waxed.  Not all Adelaide waxing salons perform XXX waxing, and it is strongly advisable, should you wish to have this type of waxing performed, then ensure you visit a salon which has extensive experience in XXX waxing.

Basically waxing is done by coating a specific area of the skin with wax.  One method of waxing is called strip waxing where a thin layer of wax (warmed to a melted consistency), is applied to the skin.  Then a cloth or thick paper strip is placed over the layer of wax.  The strip is then ripped off, against the direction of hair growth, with quick sharp movements.  The hair, along with the wax, is removed from the skin.  Strip waxing is the most common method of waxing used in Adelaide waxing salons.  One other method of hair removal by waxing is called hard waxing.  Hard waxing is where a thick layer of warmed wax is applied to the skin.  Once the wax has cooled and hardened, the wax is easily removed without the use of any cloth or paper strips.  This method, although not so common as strip waxing, is better if you have more sensitive skin which will not cope with the strip wax method.

There are many benefits to waxing over other methods of hair removal.  These benefits include:

v  Waxing is effective for removing large areas of hair in a short amount of time.

v  An area of skin which has been waxed will remain hair free for anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks.

v  Hair regrowth becomes increasingly softer, thinner, lighter, finer, and more sparse the more you wax.

v  Waxing is less time consuming, as an average leg waxing takes, on average, only about 15 to 25 minutes to perform, and averagely only needs to be done about every 4 to 6 weeks.

v  Often if waxing is performed regularly over a long period of time, hair growth can be inhibited almost entirely.

As you can see there are some great benefits to using waxing as a method of removing unwanted body hair.  There is a large variety of home waxing kits available from your local supermarket.  The effectiveness and ease of using these home kits varies among the different brands.  However for the most effective waxing, it is best to visit your local Adelaide waxing salon for a professional waxing result.
