Hair
We all want luscious, shiny, healthy Adelaide
hair that we can be proud of, but having a full
head of hear that people complement you on is not always easy
to achieve. Here
at Adelaide Beauty.com we aim to point you in the right
direction towards being well informed so that when you next go

salon, you can receive a great Adelaide
hair cut because you have learned how to look
after your hair.
Proper Adelaide
hair care will lead to a healthy full head of hair
that you can wear with pride. Improper hair care leads to
breakage, frizziness, scalp problems, fly-away hair, dull and
lifeless hair, split ends, and possible early onset of graying
and/or hair loss.
Here are some simple hair care tips that if you follow you will
soon be carrying a beautiful healthy head of
hair:
v
Healthy eating and exercise habits – a healthy body inside will
lead to a healthy body outside. This includes the condition
of your hair.
Ensure you are having a well balanced diet, full of fresh
fruits and vegetables, vitamins and minerals, and make sure you
are drinking plenty of water throughout the
day. If you
feel you are lacking in anything, vitamin and mineral
supplements that aid in healthy hair growth include
potassium, calcium and zinc, omega-3 fish oils, and B
group vitamins. Cutting down on
drinking alcohol and stopping smoking will also aid in
growing a healthy head of hair.
v
Never brush your hair when it is wet, as this will lead to
breakage of the hair. Run your fingers gently
through your hair while it is wet to detangle
it. Your
hair can be brushed safely when it is about 90%
dry.
v
Before blow drying your hair, pat your hair dry and let the
majority of the remaining moisture in it dry
naturally. Blow
drying hair should only be used when your hair is almost dry
and for more of a styling purpose than a drying
purpose.
v
Blow drying your hair using a hot setting will damage your hair
and cause dryness, breakage and split ends. Blow dry your hair using a
warm or cool setting only.
v
Regular washing of your hair will promote healthy hair growth,
usually 2 to 3 times per week is
sufficient.
v
When shampooing your hair, ensure you massage your scalp as
this promotes good blood circulation which promotes hair
growth, and helps to bring out the hair’s natural
oils.
v
When you wash your hair make sure you condition it as
well. Conditioning
your hair protects, conditions, detangles, moisturizes, softens
and smoothes your hair, and reduces static in your
hair. Ensure you
evenly spread the conditioner through your
hair.
v
It is advised by many Adelaide
hair
dressers that you rotate your brand of shampoo and conditioner
at regular intervals throughout the
year.
v
When swimming it is also advisable to wear a swimming cap to
protect your hair.
Chlorine can dry out your hair and if blond can cause
discolouration.
Make sure you was your hair after swimming
also.
v
Ensure you use the right type of shampoo for your hair type, eg
for dry damaged hair use herbal based shampoos, for normal hair
use fruit based shampoos, for oily hair use lemon based
shampoos. Your
trusted Adelaide
hair
salon will be able to inform you of what hair type your hair
is, and which shampoo will best suit
it.
Your Adelaide
hair
salon will be able to give you advice on how to best care for
your hair. At
