Adelaide Hair - Ayurvedic Hair Care Tips

Ayurveda is the traditional system of Indian health care and well being, and it is becoming popular with some Adelaide hair salons.  It emphasizes exercise, hygiene, herbal preparations, and yoga to prevent illness, and relies on diet, physiotherapy, and herbal medicines to cure ailments.  Ayurveda is quickly gaining popularity in the Western world as a form of alternative medicine.  There are many ayurvedic remedies for a vast number of beauty and health problems.  There are some very professional Adelaide hair salons who specialize in ayurvedic hair care, so should you wish to try this form of hair treatment, be sure to visit your local Adelaide hair specialist.

Ayurvedic remedies for dandruff are as follows:  mix together half a cup of coconut oil with one spoonful of camphor and massage this into your scalp each night before going to bed, wash your hair out the following morning.  Do this for two consecutive weeks.  After two weeks your scalp should be free from dandruff.  To maintain dandruff-free hair, use this mixture about two to three times per week as necessary.  This mixture should ideally be kept in a glass container which is air tight.  Another home recipe for dandruff is to mix one spoon of coconut oil with equal parts of castor oil and mustard oil.  Massage into your scalp each night and shampoo out the next day, as with the above recipe.

Ayurvedic remedies for itchy scalp:  after washing your hair, massage the scalp vigorously to help promote the production of your hair’s natural oils.  Apply a mixture of coconut oil and lime juice to your hair nightly, was out in the morning.  Do this for two consecutive weeks, then two times per week.  Continue until your itchy scalp has disappeared.  Another remedy is to drink a mixture of lettuce, spinach, alfalfa, and carrot juice.  This stimulates good hair growth and natural oils in the scalp.

Ayurvedic remedies for premature graying:  for a natural hair colour dye mix together two tablespoons of henna powder with one teaspoon of fenugreek powder, one teaspoon of curd, one tablespoon of coffee, two tablespoons of mint juice and two tablespoons of basil juice.  Apply this on your hair and leave for two to four hours, then wash the mixture out.  Another remedy is to eat each day one teaspoon of a mixture of fresh ginger and honey.

Ayurvedic remedies for hair loss:  massage the scalp each night before you go to bed using coconut or almond oil.  Massage for 10 to 15 minutes.  Wash your hair in the morning.  Another remedy is to boil coconut leaves in water, let this water cool, strain out the leaves from the water, and then rinse your hair with it.  Another ayurvedic remedy for hair loss includes eating increased amounts of leafy green vegetables, fresh fruit, and alfalfa sprouts.  Also increase your intake of proteins, milk, whole grains and nuts, wheat germ and soya beans.
