view ourselves and how we relate with those around
us. If we do not
have healthy looking skin we can feel embarrassed, shy,
unattractive, unconfident, and self
conscious.
Therefore here at Adelaide Beauty we
wish to offer you helpful advice and tips on all aspects
of beauty, including how to get great looking skin you
will be proud to show off. And here we would like
to give you some information about the different skin
types. There
are generally five different skin types; dry, oily,
combination, sensitive, and
normal.
Dry skin is characterized by thin,
paper looking skin, which feels tight and
taut. Fine
lines and wrinkles are more common with dry skin
conditions.
Other common problems of dry skin is itchiness, redness,
and patches of dry flaking skin. Medical skin conditions
such as dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis can be common
with dry skin. Dry skin requires a
creamy cleanser to gently was away dirt and impurities
from the face, a facial toner to help keep in the natural
skin oils, and a thick cream moisturizer to intensely
moisturize the skin. Ensure you use a night
cream, and a moisturizing facial serum is helpful to add
to your daily beauty routine, prior to applying your
moisturizer.
Oily skin is characterized by skin that always looks shiny and
greasy. Usually
oily skin comes with acne breakouts and
blemishes.
Oily skin can be a confusing skin type to correct, as
most people assume that they need to use stronger
products to strip the oil from their skin, when in many
cases oily skin conditions are produced because the
person does not moisturize their skin enough and
therefore the skin is lacking in natural oils and is
actually suffering from dryness and so overproduces oils
which leads to the oily buildup. The best advice for
oily skin is to be aware that you need to balance the
levels of natural oils in your skin and so moisturizing
is very important. Your Adelaide
beauty
consultant will be able to guide you with
this. Oily
skin conditions require cleansing with foaming facial
washes, followed by a gentle toner applied to your face
and neck. A
light liquid moisturizer will be best for oily skin
types.
Ensure you do this beauty routine morning and night, and
ensure you remove all make up before going to
bed. Oily
skin benefits from a little bit of regular sun exposure
(however only for a few minutes at a time, and without
any make up on) and from wearing no make up products for
as much time as possible.
Combination skin suffers from
patches of oily skin (known as the ‘oily T-zone’) across the
forehead, down the nose, and on the chin. And the remaining skin is
dry. Dealing with
this skin type can be tricky to get the
balance.
Start with cleansing with a foaming facial wash in the
morning to remove excess oil, and in the evening use a
creamy cleanser to ensure you moisturize and hydrate you
skin sufficiently and tend to the dry areas of your
face. After
toning your face, use a medium moisturizer, focusing more
on the dry areas.
Sensitive skin conditions typically suffer from red and/or dry
patches on any area of the skin. The skin can easily react to
new skin care products, so it is strongly advised to consult
your Adelaide
beauty
professional for the best products for your skin
type. There is a
great selection of good quality skin care products available
specifically for sensitive skin. Sensitive skin still needs to
be cared for, so your beauty professional is the best person to
advise you on your best beauty care
regime.
Normal skin conditions are the
easiest to look after. However this skin type still
requires regular skin care routines. A gentle face wash will help
to maintain your normal skin condition, and it is important to
use a moisturizer each morning and night. Regular facials are also very
beneficial.
It goes without saying that a healthy died and regular exercise
goes a long way to gaining and maintaining healthy, young,
vibrant looking skin, no matter what your skin
condition.
Your Adelaide
beauty
clinic will be able to give you sound advice on what skin type
you have and what beauty routine will be best for your skin, to
enable you to have the beautiful looking skin you have always
desired.
