Adelaide Beauty - Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery

Here at Adelaide Beauty.com we are fully aware of the growing trend and popularity of cosmetic and plastic surgical procedures.  And we are also aware of the importance of being fully informed before electing to have such a procedure.  Be sure to research not only the method of the procedure you wish to have and the risks associated with it, but also research which Adelaide beauty enhancement clinic you will use.  You need to be comfortable with your Adelaide beauty surgeon and the clinic overall.

We know that many of us are unhappy with aspects of our appearance and wish that we could alter these, which is why we have listed below some of the more common invasive cosmetic and plastic surgical procedures which are available to you:

Liposuction:   involves removing fat tissue from beneath the skin surface using a long metal cannula tube and suction.  Common areas of liposuction are around the waist and across the chest for men, and stomach, buttocks, and thighs for women.  Other areas of the body able to be liposuctioned are lower back, upper arms and under the chin.  Liposuction has its best effect when combined with good diet and exercise after the procedure.

Abdominoplasty: commonly known as a tummy tuck. A section of excess fat and skin is cut from below the belly button. The skin is then pulled taut to form a slimmer, flatter stomach. A thin, long scar will remain, however this will be situated low down below the waistline, which will diminish over time. Is a common procedure for women who are wanting to get rid of their stretch marks after child birth. An abdominoplasty is considered to be major surgery, so enusre you consult at length with your Adelaide beauty enhancement clinic before having any such surgical procedure done.

Breast Augmentation:   is a breast enlargement, where implants commonly made from saline or silicon, are implanted under the surface of the breast.  Scarring is very minimal, and choice of breast size is decided jointly by the client and the surgeon.  Recovery time is relatively quick.

Breast Mastopexy:   otherwise known as a breast uplift.  With a breast mastopexy the size of the breast is not increased, but the breast is lifted resulting in a better shaped breast.  Commonly carried out on women who are unhappy with the sagging look of their breasts.  Breasts end up looking more firm and perky.

Breast Reduction:   is where the size of the breast is decreased.  Scarring can be visible and recovery time can be longer than for other breast augmentation procedures.  Commonly used for women with overly large breasts who suffer from chronic back pain due to the size of their breasts.

Rhinoplasty:   or a nose job, changes the shape and/or size of a person’s nose.  Can be a minor procedure where the outer skin and/or cartilage is only manipulated, or a more major surgical procedure where bone is removed and/or reshaped.

Blepharoplasty :  is eyelid surgery.  Surgery can be carried out on the upper and lower eye area.  Excess skin is removed, and for lower eye surgery some underlying fat can also be removed to reduce the look of ‘puffy’ eyes or ‘eye bags’.  Scarring is minimal and after a short recovery time, scarring becomes virtually invisible.

Rhytidectomy:   is a face lift, where excess skin is removed from around the sides of the face, forehead, jaw line, and neck area.  The aim is to reduce wrinkles from across the face.

Otoplasty:   commonly know as ear-pinning.  Is a relatively non-invasive procedure and recovery time is quick.  The skin from behind the ear is peeled off from the cartilage in the ear and the cartilage is scored with a scalpel blade.  This causes the ear to naturally turn in closer towards the side of the head.  Scarring is not visible.  Can easily be carried out on children, teens, or adults.
